Hi! Thank you for letting me share a little about myself! I’m Sloane Ptashek, a performer and artist who was born in London and raised in New York City. I am now based in and happily exploring southern California.

There’s nothing that I love more than performing - I’ve been doing it since I was six. Some of my favorite educational credits include Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey), Hair (Dionne), …Spelling Bee (Marcy) , and Company (Marta).

I am a woman of European and Asian descent. My full name provides a bit of context and grounding for me, given my ambiguous background. Sloane (“warrior” and coincidentally the name of the street on which we lived when I was born) Lola (Filipino for “grandmother” - I’m named after my maternal grandmother) Kaleiauli’i (Hawaiian for “delicate flower”), and Ptashek (Polish for “little bird”). Clearly, multiple cultures and ethnicities intermingle to make up my background. Growing up in a biracial household, and embracing both Judaism and Catholicism, I feel so lucky to be such a mixture and am grateful to be defined by diversity! I feel the same way about the different aspects of my life, not limiting myself to just one path, but many.

Currently, I’m a sophomore at the University of California, Irvine, where I am a Drama major studying Musical Theatre. (Go Anteaters!) At UCI, I’ve explored many aspects of theater. In addition to nabbing a main stage role as a freshman, I’ve served as a production assistant for a main stage dance show; organized, directed, and produced the freshman showcase; performed in cabarets and concerts; and joined an amazing a capella group, Uniting Voices. I honestly have loved and grow with every experience.

I am a proud New Yorker who lives walking distance from the bright lights of Broadway. I graduated from Riverdale Country School in the Bronx, where I participated in theater and performing arts programs. I’ve trained at Applause New York, The Atlantic Acting School, The Broadway Collective, Berridge Programs, and Devin Ilaw Vocal Studio.

Other than theater, I am minoring in Art History. I love pilates, listening to music (current fave: Sammy Rae and the Friends), and food in Hawaii.  I’m also thinking of a new color to dye my hair.
